Dear Protel,
We are extremely satisfied with Protel's service.
1) Our telephone bills have gone down markedly. We make a lot of long
distance calls and we noticed the difference immediately.
2) Access is excellent. No problems at all from anywhere we've called
or from any type of phone. This is especially true of those phone calls
made while traveling or from airports. Also, those type of calls are much,
much less expensive than any under a different service, perhaps one-fourth
of some we've been charged.
3) If we have any questions, we get to talk to a real live human
being who knows who we are and gives us personal attention! Without any
hesitation, we would certainly recommend Protel to anyone.

1998]. No problems to report -- it works great and saves me money. When
other long distance services call, trying to convince me to switch, I just

While not actually testimonials, the following stories illustrate the level of personalized service that Protel provides its customers
One of our clients has a friend who made a call to Sri Lanka on his own phone using AT&T. He spoke for a billed 40 minutes; his bill was an astounding $300. We were not told what time of day he called, but the rate was $7.50/minute.
She invited the gentleman to use her phone to make another call to Sri Lanka with Protel Long Distance service. He spoke for 38 minutes this time: his charges as they appeared on our client's bill were $40.66. That call was made without the benefit of using PowerDial®. With the PowerDial rates in effect at that time, the same call would have been even less expensive: $28.12. With today's PowerDial rate, the call would have cost $18.62! With Protel, international calls are independent of the time of day.
You too can save on your international calls. You do not even have to use Protel as your default long distance carrier (but why wouldn't you?) because PowerDial is an independent stand-alone product which you can have installed on your telephone for FREE, with no fixed monthly charges. You are only billed when you use the service for the actual minutes you talked (billed in 6 second increments).
BV has a small business in Mt. Shasta, California. He became a Protel client in May, 1999. He received a telemarketing call in late 2000 stating that he would have better service with "the big company" and that he should switch to them and get reliable service for just about the same cost as he was currently paying with us. He called us to tell us he was dropping his service; we cautioned him that the rates would probably be much more expensive. In February, 2001 he called us and asked us to analyze his first bill. Comparison was difficult because the "the big company" bills in full minute increments; but we compared each call and estimated, based on the stated minutes for each call, the cost at our rates. He had a bill for those 85 calls of $66.56; our cost for the same calls, as close as we could estimate would have been $14.85! That's less than a quarter of the cost of the actual bill. The savings were actually more, because the savings with six second billing are about 12% (based on his average call duration of 3 minutes) and the taxes are based on the charges billed. Needless to say, BV became our customer again!
This is a funny story. On March 11, 2002, one of our clients called us to tell us this story. He had recommended our service to a friend (we'll call him "Al") of his, who in turn recommended us to one of his friends (we'll call him "Bob"). Bob saved so much money on his phone bill that he gave Al an antique clock in gratitude. Now that is impressive gratitude! But Al didn't give our client an antique clock. :-(
It is a real joy for us to be able to provide our customers with honest great rates and great service!
