PowerDial® benefits

• It's free - you are charged only for the actual time you were connected.
• It is often available when other long distance lines are down or not working.
• PowerDial can often provide a lower rate in those states or areas within states with high in-state rates.
• PowerDial may provide a lower rate for many international calls.
• PowerDial is available even if you do not wish to change your regular long distance service

If you want genuine savings on your long distance bills without changing your current carrier, consider signing up for PowerDial® service. It works just like dialing a 10 + 10 number before dialing the number of the party you are calling. Simply dial 1-888-30-30-7-30. If you are signed up for service, a recorded voice will ask you to enter the number of the party you wish to call (including 1 + area code, even if the call might have been made to a phone in the next room). Your call will then be charged at the current rate of 6.9¢/minute for interstate calls and an in-state rate dependent upon the state in which you live. Click here to see the rate for your state. Billing is in six-second increments with an 18 second start for domestic calls. (3¢ minimum for an interstate call + the obligatory federal, state and local taxes and fees.)

If you are not signed up for service, you will hear a cryptic message asking you to enter your authorization number. There is nothing you can enter to complete the call. The phone from which you are dialing is not recognized by the switch.

PowerDial® for International calls

PowerDial is especially beneficial for making international calls because the rates for many countries are often cheaper with PowerDial than for our standard long distance. Every customer of Protel's PowerNet Global service is automatically signed up for PowerDial and that service can be used as an option for dialing international calls when the PowerDial rate is less than the standard (PowerOne) dial-up service.
