Account Codes

Account codes (also called Project Codes) allow you to organize the long distance calls you make each month. The calls are sorted on each month's bill according to a two-digit (or more) code which you entered each time you make a long distance call. This optional free service can save you hours of grief and money at tax time.

For example ...

Account Codes are free - there are no set up fees or monthly charges. There is a disadvantage in that you have to dial two (up to eight) additional digits each and every time you make a long distance call. (You cannot use project codes to block long distance calls because 10 + 10 codes can still be used without the necessity of dialing the account code.)

There are two types of Account Codes:

Verified Codes
These are four digit codes which we assign to you when you sign up for service with verified codes. You may request as many code numbers as you might need. Only the four digit numbers we assign will permit a long distance call to be completed. Verified codes would find use in an office where several different people would have access to and authorization to use the telephone.
Non-Verified Codes
These are any two (up to eight) digit numbers which you assign to specific individuals or jobs. The first digit cannot be a zero. With a two digit code, you can create 89 separate categories, which should be more than enough for most applications. When you sign up for service, tell your personal account manager how many digits you would like to use for your non-verified codes.
