REQUIREMENTS FOR
SELLERS AT TRAIN MART - September 5-7, 2008
1. Train Mart is operated by Train Mart as a convenience for
individuals wishing to dispose of railroading items no longer of use to
the individual. Each consignor assigns the prices for the items, and Train
Mart assumes no responsibility for the value or the quality of the item.
It is operated as a volunteer project by members of the Caldwell Model
Railroad Club, Inc. for the Treasure Valley Train Expo, and 10% of each
item's cost is donated to the Caldwell Model Railroad Club.
2. All items sold must relate in some way to the hobby of
railroading. Other hobby items will not be accepted.
3. Obtain a seller's number by calling Lori or Gene at (208)
337-3456. If you fail to reach us, please leave a message, stating your
name and telephone number slowly and clearly. You will use this seller's
number at future Train Expos as long as you continue to offer items for
sale. If you have forgotten your number, call Lori or Gene.
4. Obtain one free seller's card for each item (or bundled group of
items) from Team Dewey or
at the Caldwell
Model Railroad Club, during their open hours Tues 7 to 9 PM and
Saturday 1 to 4 PM. If they cannot supply you, send $1.50 for each 23
cards desired to Lori & Gene Volz, 26275 Riverview Drive, Wilder, ID
83676. The cost is to cover mailing costs. One seller's card is needed for
each single item you are selling.
5. Before you come to Train Mart, fill out a seller's card for each
item or bundle you wish to sell, numbering them sequentially, preceding
each item number with your "seller's number." For example, if
your seller's number is 45, your first item would be 45-1, the second
45-2, 45-3, etc.. If you are computer knowledgeable, and would like to
create labels for your sale cards, see instructions by
clicking here. Keep all your "multiple"
cards together.
6. Do not leave gaps between numbers. If you are selling 25 items,
for example, there must be numbers from 1 to 25, and no higher.
7. Each item must have a tag or sticker attached with your complete
seller's and item number (e.g. 45-1) and price clearly written on it.
Place it so the public can see the cost and may include any description
you care to include (scale, age, original cost, autographed edition,
etc.). Be sure the label you apply does not degrade or lower the value of
the item. If you wish to sell magazines as a group (for example one year's
worth), they must be bundled securely, wrapped in plastic or tied with a
string to prevent removal of individual issues. They will not accepted
otherwise!
8. Bring your items as early as possible to the Train Mart for
check-in, preferably Thursday afternoon. Each item will be checked against
its card as quickly as possible by one of our courteous helpers. Only
after it has been checked in will any item be allowed to be placed on the
tables for sale. We will be checking items in from about 3 PM. Thursday
until we leave the building around 10 PM. We will be available Friday
morning at 9:30 AM. for additional check-ins.
9. Train Mart will open at 12 noon (not one minute earlier) for all
sales. No sales or previewing of items will be allowed to anyone before
noon.
10. We will be able to late check-in items between 9:30 A.M. and noon
Friday morning. If your items are properly labeled and organized, check-in
for you will be expedited.
11. As noted on the seller's card, Train Mart cannot be held
responsible for any losses which may occur. We are dealing with large
numbers of people, and while we wish they were all honest, there are
always a few bad apples. Our crew is watching and by their presence, we
hope to discourage those sticky fingers.
12. All items brought for sale at Train Mart must remain on the table
until sold or 4 PM Sunday. The price you set when you left the item is the
price for which it will be sold - no negotiation will be allowed by the
buyer or seller.
13. You may come to claim your unsold items any time only after 4 PM
on Sunday. We ask you to be patient as we want to be certain that all the
cards are properly sorted and that each individual is paid the correct
amount due him/her. As during check-in, all items sold and unsold will be
cross-checked with the seller's receipts.
14. Sellers or their representatives (a representative must have a
signed note from the seller so stating) must claim all unsold items before
we leave the fairgrounds, Sunday night. Any items left will be either
discarded, or retained for sale by Train Mart next year with the entire
amount of the sale price to be retained by Train Mart.
15. Payment for items will be by check (less the 10% commission for
Train Mart) at the time of check-out.
16. For additional information about Train Mart, phone Eugene or Lori
at (208) 337-3456 or cell at (916) 995-0096. You may also contact us at
